Do you know that you can now
report illegal roadblocks, extortions, harrassments or any other unlawful
activities of the police to their commission and have your complaints heard and
acted upon!
That was C.P. Ojukwu's statement while reacting to questions on the NTA programme on what the police commission is doing to curb the resurfacing of illegitimate roadblocks which is now springing up again in some parts of the country.
C.P. Ojukwu said the police force
is doing everything in its capacity to bring any police officer(s) who is found
guilty of any unlawfulness to face the wrath of law.
“we have developed a website
where people can now lodge their complaints, upload videos and audios of any police
officer caught in the act of lawlessness for further investigation and
sanction” he said.
“Just make sure you record or know
the officer’s name or number, get it in your recording for confirmation and
documentation if possible, and upload it to www.stopthebribes.net or send SMS to
07056792065.” He added.
