Last week Wednesday, three final
year undergraduates of Obafemi Awolowo were allegedly involved in kidnapping of
an unidentified middle aged girl.
The three students named; Femi,
Tunmise and a third unidentified guy were caught on June 10 as they tried to
escape in their Mazda car with a school girl they had kidnapped, who was in the
booth of their car.
It was reported that some suspicious
people alerted police about the guys’ activities in the area sensing that they
might be involved in a nefarious activity. The people in the area noted that

The lady who is a teenager was on her way from school when the guys, accosted her and dragged her into their car.
The police then chased and caught them around Mokuro road in Ile Ife, where the kidnapped girl was found, bound, in the booth of their car.
The incident happened around 3.00
p.m when students were returning home.
When the news filtered around the
town, there was palpable fear by the residents of the historic town as they
quickly rushed to schools to take home their children.
An angry mob descended on them but
they were rescue before they could be killed. Their car was however badly
damaged. The boys are, currently, detained at
the state police headquarters in Osogbo for further interrogation.
