Sudanese goverment arrest woman suspected of killing Nigerian diplomat

The Sudanese government says it has arrested the woman that allegedly killed Habibu Almu, an Immigration Attaché at the Nigerian embassy in Khartoum.

Recall that last week Thursday, Habibu, an Assistant Comptroller of Immigration, was found stabbed to death at his home in the Sudanese capital city of Khartoum.

A statement released by the Sudanese authorities at the weekend said the suspect is a foreign national. Read the statement in part: “The police arrested the offender, a foreign woman who committed the crime. She confessed the murder of the Nigerian official and the stolen possessions.”

The Sudanese authorities didn’t disclose the circumstances of the crime or the nationality of the killer. The Nigerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, confirmed yesterday that the Sudanese government had communicated the arrest of the principal suspect to his ministry.
