Youths carpet Buhari over attacks on Obasanjo

Yorubas and Nigerians in general have been urged not to allow the President Muhammed Buhari-led administration to tarnish the impeccable image of former President Olusegun Obasanjo due to what it described as political ‘shenanigans.’

The President of the Yoruba Youth Forum (YYF), Mr. Olusegun Abiodun Bolarinwa gave the advise yesterday, at a press conference organized by the group in Ibadan, Oyo State capital.

He noted that Obasanjo is a true Nigerian, a detribalized person who had been trying to make the incumbent President steer the ship of state in the right direction, a move which he said had drawn the ire of sychophants, opportunists and propagandists in Buhari’s kitchen cabinet.

Mr. Bolarinwa said, Obasanjo, an elder statesman and reputable leader who has wide and varied recognition and good reputation all over the world is in good stead to give the present government a sense of right direction.

Furthermore, Bolarinwa maintained that   the destruction of lives and property being perpetrated by Boko Haram,   herdsmen, terrorists and others in the country was something that needed serious attention.

He said the killings in Plateau State, Zamfara State, Benue State was just too much, saying that the president has failed to tackle the problem of insurgents that has been affecting those geo-political zones.

He, however, frowned at the utterances of Professor Wole Soyinka, a fellow Yoruba man, who has been in the forefront of those campaigning against the efforts of Obasanjo to rescue the nation from possible wreck of the ship of state.
