The Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, yesterday claimed the All Progressives Congress, APC, was becoming nervous at the widespread acceptance its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, is gaining in the South East.
, the opposition party said, is a manifestation of what awaits the former Vice President in all the geo-political zones in the country.
The party added that Atiku’s acceptance demonstrates the settled resolve of Nigerians across board to vote out the Buhari administration due to its manifest failures in governance.
The PDP national spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan, in a statement, said the party “is aware of how this acceptance has sent jitters down the spines of APC and President Buhari, having belied claims that Mr. President and the APC were making inroads into the South East.
“With the assemblage of all leaders of note in every sector from all the five states of the South East receiving our candidate, it is settled that President Buhari and the APC do not have any support in the zone. This acceptance could not have been less significant because the Buhari-led APC administration has no achievement, of any sort, in the entire zone.”
The PDP also commended the people of the South East and Nigerians in general for their courage in collectively resolving to rally round Atiku and other candidates of the party to rescue Nigeria from the “shackles of the Buhari administration and return her to the path of good governance, national cohesion and economic prosperity.”
