SHEKARAU RATES JONATHAN REGIME HIGHEST ON CREATING ACCESS TO EDUCATION

The Minister of Education, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau has scored the administration of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan as the best in terms of providing access to education, citing the establishment of more institutions of learning and providing enabling environment in terms of funding.

He made the declaration at the opening of Ministerial sessions of the 60th National Council on Education (NCE) in Abeokuta on Thursday November 6, 2014.

The Minister used the occasion to review the Federal Government's achievements on such issues including: implementation of new basic education curriculum, introduction of e-curriculum, computer based test in (UTME) and improving Access and Equity in tertiary education, the successful containment of Ebola Virus Disease and general students’ safety in schools as well as the issue of strengthening Entrepreneurship Education for job creation among other issues.
