The Government Secondary School, Chibok, Bornu State, was destroyed by Boko Haram when the terrorist sect abducted over 200 girls in April last year.
More than 3,000 students in Chibok have been unable to return to school since the deadly attack by Boko Haram.
The Federal government plans to rebuild and remodel the school under the Safe School Initiative of the ministry of Finance.
The Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala represented President Goodluck Jonathan at the foundation laying ceremony for the rebuilding of the school.
The new school, which will run on solar power, is expected to have a state of the art library, a laboratory, a computer and ICT Centre, a sports arena, a clinic, an observation post, a new staff accommodation, the principal's residence, a brand new administration block, new dormitories and a water reservoir.
