Nigeria's President-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, Warns - Dont Expect Miracles.

Nigeria's President-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, has told Nigerians not to expect miracles from him when he assumes office.

This is coming even before the inauguration of his administration on May 29, 2015.

The President-elect, said this while speaking with the British Broadcasting Corporation, BBC on Sunday.

He said that if it took the Federal Government between five to six years to make a difference in the war against Boko Haram insurgency, he could not have promised to end the menace overnight.

He, however, banked on foreign nations, especially neighbouring countries to flush out insurgents from the country.

This is surprising because the APC, had severally vilified President Goodluck Jonathan for seeking the support of neigbouring countries and the international community to fight terrorism in the country and to secure the release of over 200 Chibok girls abducted by Boko Haram sect on April 14, 2014.

Buhari declared that the war against insurgency is ongoing, stressing that “for five, six years, the Nigerian law enforcement agencies, including the military, couldn’t secure 14 local governments in the North-East geopolitical zone.

Hear him:
“How can I promise miracles when I come? But with the cooperation of our neighbours: Cameroun, Chad, Niger and the international community, and the commitment we are going to get from the military, I think it will take us a much shorter time to deal with it,”.
