Buruji Kashamu |
Justice Ibrahim Bubba of a Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the personnel of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, out of the home of embattled Senator-elect, Buruji Kashamu in Lekki, Lagos.
Justice Buba, while presiding over the case filed by counsel to Kashamu, said the NDLEA should immediately vacate the residence and maintain status quo.
Kashamu had been under house arrest since the morning of Saturday May 23, 2015, when anti-narcotic agents secured his property.
The NDLEA had said Mr. Kashamu was detained to ensure he appears in court to face extradition proceedings on Monday.
The lawmaker-elect is wanted by United States authorities for alleged drug related offences.
Despite the house arrest, the NDLEA failed to take Mr. Kashamu to court on Monday.
The matter has subsequently been adjourned till 4th of June.
