Nigeria
midfielder Victor Moses has expressed delight in Chelsea’s win over European
champions Barcelona on Wednesday in Washington DC, during their pre-season tour
of North America.
English
champions Chelsea played 2-2 with Barcelona at the end of 90 minutes and
eventually won the encounter 4-2 on penalty shootout.
Eden
Hazard opened scoring 10 minutes into the game slotting the ball into the net
after a fine run past four defenders. Former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez
equalised for Barcelona in the 52nd minute and Sandro gave Luiz Enrique’s side
a lead in the 66th minute and Gary Cahill levelled for Jose Mourinho’s side in
the 86th minute.
Moses,
who was brought in for Cesc Fabregas in the 59th minute scored Chelsea’s second
penalty during the shootout, bringing his goal tally during the pre-season tour
to three
The
Super Eagles player earlier scored the equaliser for Chelsea, who went on to
beat PSG in a penalty shootout during which Moses also scored. He also won the
Man-of-the-Match award in that PSG encounter.
Moses,
who spent last season with Stoke City on loan, hopes to get a role with Blues
this season.
He
took to Twitter on Wednesday to express satisfaction with his participation in
the pre-season tour after returning to London.
“Great
to end the tour with a win against Barcelona! Back to London now,” he tweeted.
