B’Haram kills four in Borno highway ambush

The Boko Haram sect on Sunday ambushed motorists along Maiduguri-Damboa-Biu Highway, killing four persons and injuring three others.

They also kidnapped two people, including a member of the youth vigilance group.

A member of the group, Ali Ngulde, told our correspondent that the notorious militants ambushed motorists at a remote village, Nwajurko, located near Sabon Gari in the Damboa Local Government Area of Borno.
Ngulde said, “Boko Haram in a highway ambush killed four persons, abducted two, and injured three others on the Maiduguri-Damboa-Biu Highway.”

A source at Biu General Hospital, who wished to remain anonymous, said three persons were brought to the hospital and they were in critical condition because they sustained serious gunshot injuries.

Sabon Gari village, which is located in southern Borno, is about 125 kilometres away from Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, and epicentre of Boko Haram insurgency.
