Probe civil service first, group tells Buhari

A non-governmental organisation, Royal Character and Values, on Saturday, urged President Muhammadu Buhari to begin his anti-corruption campaign from the Federal Civil Service Commission.

Team Leader of RCV, Mrs. Bosede Olusola-Obasa, who spoke at the group’s inauguration held to commemorate her 40th birthday, emphasised the importance of good character development in education, business and government.

“Corruption and impunity are some of the traits of character deficit in people and systems. We speak to government functionaries, public office holders and government workers to inject the turnaround character dose into doing the business of governance,” she said.

Also, an Executive Director of the group, Mr. Sunday Olorunseyi, noted that it was easier for people to identify problems than solutions.

He explained that wherever there was a group of Nigerians, they would most likely be discussing the problems in society.

Olorunseyi said, “Nobody is talking about the solution. Identifying problems is so easy; when one is driving down the road and there is a pothole, everybody knows that there is a problem. But how do we solve it? Character is everything to successful leadership.”
