people worshiping at the Aso Villa Chapel yesterday |
Acting
Chaplain of Aso Villa Chapel, Pastor Joseph Sheyi Malomo on Sunday denied the claims
in some quarters that the Aso Villa chapel had been closed down by the
presidency.
Stating
the speculation as the handiwork of mischief makers, Chaplain Malomo stated
that at no time was the worship center shut down for any reasons whatsoever.
Malomo
who spoke after the church service on Sunday however admitted that there were
some procedural issues last Sunday that needed to be sorted out.
The
chaplain spoke against the backdrop of some online reports that President
Muhammadu Buhari ordered the closure of the place which is close to his
official residence.
He
urged Nigerians to ignore the rumour, even as he called for greater emphasis on
issues that would entrench unity among Nigerians.
Vice
President, Yemi Osinbajo, a Redeemed Christain Church pastor who is seen as the
chief worshiper in the place was however not present at the Sunday service.
Sources
said he hasn’t been consistent with worships at the venue since his assumption
of office on May 29.
