Real Madrid forward, Cristiano
Ronaldo, is now Real Madrid’s all-time leading goalscorer in La Liga.
The Portuguese captain netted five
times, as Madrid hammered Espanyol 6-0 on Saturday, including a first-half
hat-trick. It is the second time Ronaldo will be scoring five goals in a game
and he is the first player to have achieved the feat for the Bernabeu club.
In doing so, the 30-year-old has
reached a total of 230 goals in La Liga, breaking the 228-goal record which was
held by Raul. The former Madrid striker needed 550 matches to reach his total,
while Ronaldo achieved it in 204 league games.
Ronaldo’s 28th career hat-trick in
the Spanish league, also means he is now fourth in La Liga’s scoring charts.
