Didier Drogba Makes An Epic Start To His MLS Career, Scoring Three Goals In His First MLS Start.

Didier Drogba scored a hat trick in his first Major League Soccer start to help Montreal Impact to a 4-3 win over Chicago Fire on Saturday night but admitted he was not happy at the result despite his performance.

Drogba, 37, completed his move to MLS in late July after being released by Chelsea and netted his first goal for the club with a left-footed strike in the 27th minute. Jeff Larentowicz hit back with a penalty before Wandrille Lefevre scored for Montreal but then saw his effort cancelled out minutes later by Gilberto.

Kennedy Igboananike put Chicago 3-2 up but Drogba equalised two minutes later from a quick restart and then gave his side the lead for good five minutes later with a header from close range.

But the former Chelsea striker was not happy with the overall performance, despite his hat trick.

"For me, it's not a good result, the most important thing is that you get the three points, but when you look at the game itself, you know we've got a lot of things to change and to work on. There's always room for improvement in this team." Drogba told reporters.

Drogba celebrated after the final whistle by presenting his jersey to a fan after the match and added: "The crowd was amazing. And, you know, this Man of the Match [trophy] that they gave me at the end, it's for them. I give it to them."
