Pipeline vandals kill three policemen in Lagos



There had been a shootout on Monday, among pipeline vandals and policemen at Olanukan Village, in Ishawo, Agric area of Ikorodu, Lagos State, which left three policemen dead.

According to reports, a tanker fully-loaded with suspected stolen petroleum product allegedly siphoned from Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) pipeline around Oke-Oko, was flagged down by the policemen at the Ishawo Agric check point, between 3 a.m and 6 a.m.

On arrival, the vandals opened fire on the policemen; afterwards, they allegedly drove off the scene with one of their fellow who was gunned down during the gun battle and three policemen that were feared dead.

One of the policemen, a Corporal, simply identified as Yerima, sustained bullet wounds and is reportedly responding to treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
