Former Nigeria international, Friday Ekpo, has said that the Super Eagles could not defeat Tanzania in their 0-0 draw on Saturday, because they lacked a game plan.
The former African champions failed to get three points, as coach Sunday Oliseh took charge of his first official match.
“They (Eagles) should have done more playing their own style. I believe they would have done better if they had stuck to their own plan,” Ekpo told CompleteSports.
“They were playing like the Tanzanians. They didn’t settle down to know who and what kind of team the Tanzanians were.
“Let’s see what will happens when they play their next game.”
The Eagles now have four points from two games and Ekpo argues that it is not a bad return.
“Four points from two games is not bad. If we had lost, it would have been three points from two games,” he added.
“We just need to do more to make sure we get the necessary points in order to have the edge over the other teams.”
