Lady burns self while attempting to bathe ex-boyfriend with acid

A 21-year-old girl, Ung Limey, from Phnom Penh, Cambodia, who allegedly tried to pour acid on her ex-boyfriend, Leng Socheata, while riding on the back of his motorcycle, has reportedly gotten burnt eventually.

Reports claimed that although the target was injured, most of the acid was blown back onto her face.

According to reports, Limey fled the scene before the police arrived. The family of the 23-year-old ex-boyfriend reportedly told the police it was an act of revenge after they had convinced him to break off the relationship.

“Although she’s currently missing, the police believe she has been treated for her burns at a private hospital and the social media reportedly reveal photos of Limey with a bandaged face,” a police source disclosed, adding that the suspect will be apprehended and soon be charged to court.

Meanwhile, reports say she had been arrested for jewelry theft and drug charges in the past.

Acid attacks are way more common in Cambodia than they are in the U.S., but stringent new laws have seen an 80 percent reduction in those incidents, Daily Mail reports.
