In an attempt to escape Lagos
State Taskforce on Environmental Sanitation and Special Offences an
unidentified Hausa man jumped to his death over the Obalende Bridge in
Lagos, on Thursday.
According to Pm News, a trader who identified himself simply as John said
the young man was watching the Taskforce Officials who stormed Obalende
to enforce the law on Environmental Sanitation displacing street
traders and illegal motorcycle operators from the top of the bridge when
the incident occurred.
The young man from Adamawa State, North East Nigeria
sighted another Taskforce Officials’ patrol van moving towards his
direction and choose to jump over the bridge in assumption that they
were after him.
The
deceased landed on top of the iron beautification barriers under the
bridge, he sustained serious injuries on his head and other parts of his
body that lead to him dying instantly.
Immediately
the incident occurred a mob attacked the Taskforce officials,
vandalized their vehicle and pursued them towards the 3rd Mainland
Bridge. The trader further said.
