The students’ call came against the backdrop of a special Holy Ghost Service the renowned cleric is expected to conduct at OAU.

According to them, Pastor Adeboye being a one time university lecturer is capable of using his position to help them convince the university management to lift the suspension of their leaders and union activities.
‘’As an alumnus and former lecturer, we believe that Daddy GO would use his influence to prevail on the school management to reason with us on our demands’’, the students said.
Among the challenges listed by the students are poor welfare, suspension of union activities and some union leaders.
The students under the aegis of Progressive Students’ Agenda, OAU branch urged Adeboye to emulate Jesus, whose presence anywhere brought about positive things.
In a statement signed by its leaders, Ifeanyichukwu Chukwunyere and Emmanuel Ajiboye the students implored the General Overseer to speak to the authorities on their behalf.
“We the members of this organisation write to tell you that things are not going well here.
We need your help seriously and urgently. Just as the Bible teaches us that everywhere our Lord Jesus Christ went, his visits were notable because of its conspicuous positive effects.
“We humbly appeal to you to talk to the university management to harken to our demands. We strongly hope that you shall be a great instrument to this salvation we plead for.”
