The discovery, which was made on Monday, January 25, has moved residents to tears and anger. The corpses were reportedly buried in the foundation of a church building which was still under construction.
The construction of the building, whose owner is still unknown, began recently
and builders were in process of laying foundation when one of the building
workers found the bodies.
Sources revealed that one of the workers at the site, who heard about the
burial of the deceased inside the foundation before it was concreted, alerted
security operatives. Policemen then mobilized some laborers to dig out the
foundation.
Some residents of the area alleged that the building believed to be a proposed
place of worship, belonged to a ritualist who disguised to be a man of God. The
discovery attracted several passersby and other road users.
The people of Ugwuaji Area in Enugu were in complete bafflement when dead bodies, buried in shallow graves were discovered in the foundation of a church building, Dailypost reports.
