Multiple accidents occurred at Odo Oba area of Oyo-Ogbomoso road early morning on Sunday, which involved several articulated vehicles and commuter buses.
Our correspondent learnt that the early morning downpour caused the
Odo-Oba river to overflow resulting in vehicles being partly submerged.
It was gathered that several vehicles ran into themselves while a
number of people were trapped in their vehicles. As at the time of
filing this report, the number of people involved has not been
established.
The Odo-Oba area is a constant scene of multiple accidents because of the narrow bridge and constant overflow of water.
This year, a footballer with Crown FC of Ogbomoso died in the
river when a bus he was travelling in plunged in. His colleague in the
same bus had to swim ashore to escape been swept away.
Details soon.
