Sad! 9 year old girl dies after her overweight cousin sits on her as punishment

A 9 year old Florida girl, Dericka Lindsay, died Saturday after her 325-pound cousin sat on her as punishment for misbehaving, police said.

Veronica Green Posey, 64, called paramedics on Saturday afternoon when her cousin, Lindsay was found unresponsive. Posey allegedly told police that she sat on her cousin to discipline for “being out of control.”

Posey allegedly struck her 9 year old cousin with a ruler and metal pipe for 'misbahving'. As if that wasnt enough punsihment, she sat on the little girl for about 10 minutes before the child began to complain that she couldnt breathe, the police report reportedly said.

When paramedics arrived, Lindsay was unresponsive. She was rushed to Baptist Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Posey was charged with homicide and cruelty toward a child.

Lindsay’s parents were also charged with child neglect for allegedly failing to report the abuse.
All three adults were taken into custody at Escambia County Jail.
