CBN ex-deputy governor, Tunde Lemo, loses mother


Mrs. Eunice Lemo, the mother of a former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Tunde Lemo, is dead.

Lemo, in a statement on Monday, said his mother passed on at exactly8.35pm on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at the age of 85.

He described her as a devout Christian and staunch community leader, adding that she was survived by “successful children and grandchildren who have made their marks in various fields of endeavour.”

 “The details of the celebration of her life will be communicated at a later date,” Lemo added.

The statement noted that the late Mrs. Lemo was born on November 11, 1932 at Olofin-Odo Village, Orile-Imo community, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State.

She was educated at Anglican School, Orile-Imo between 1939 and 1945; and All Saints (Anglican) School, Owode in 1948.

“She commenced her teaching career as a junior teacher in 1949 at African Church School, Meesan in Ifo Local Government Area under Mr. David Sogaolu. She was later transferred to African Church School, Onikoko, near Itori Railway Station,” the statement added.
