The old students of Owo High School, Owo, Ondo State, under the auspices of the Old Students’ Association of Owo High School have called on the State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu, to make the public schools attractive in the state.
The Chairman of the association, Cannon Bayode Oladimeji stated this while speaking at the inauguration of an ultramodern digital resource center, donated by one of the members of the association, Mr. Foluso Falaye, held at Owo High school on Thursday.
Oladimeji specifically appealed to the state government to facelift the dilapidated physical structures in the Owo High School.
The chairman, who explained that the association had contributed in no small measures to the development of the secondary school, urged the governor to do more for the school in the areas of infrastructural development.
He called on other members of the association to emulate Falaye, by donating graciously to the development of the school.
Oladimeji said, ” We request the assistance of the governor to renovate many dilapidated buildings scattered all over the school compound. ”
In his remarks, the donor, Foluso Falaye, lamented the deplorable condition of the public schools in the state, saying the condition of public schools needed the attention of the government and other stakeholders in the education sector.
Falaye, who is a computer expert, said there was a need for the government to raise the standard of public schools.
