The Ghost and The Tout set new cinema record in 2018, makes 30 million in seven days


Popular actress, Toyin Abraham and her co-executive producer, Samuel Olatunji has set another record in 2018 in the box-office. Their rave of the moment movie, The Ghost and The Tout has grossed 30million in seven days. That is a new record in 2018 for Nollywood film at the box office.
This feat by The Ghost and the Tout is highly commendable considering stiff competition from Avengers-Infinity War, Deadpool and the ongoing fasting. The movie has gone on to knock Hollywood blockbuster off number one and has not yielded ground for the popular Deadpool movie.

Feelers from the distributor of The Ghost and the Tout movie has been that should the movie continue on this momentum, it is set to be the highest grossing release of 2018 so far.

The movie is experiencing high sales in Imo, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Delta and Kano. These places are not traditionally regarded as Toyins stronghold but with the success of this movie, the actress has proven her cross-over appeal.

The movie which tells the story of Isila (Toyin Abraham), a young woman from the ghetto who encounters a ghost in need of her help to communicate with the people he left behind. Only her can see the ghost. At the ghost’s request, she becomes tangled in solving a murder
mystery and her life takes an interesting turn. The story was told in the most hilarious way.

The roll call of actors in the movie include but not limited to Racheal Okonkwo, Lasisi Elenu, Femi Adebayo, Sambasa Nzeribe, Josh2funny, Chioma Akpotha, Bobrisky, Dele Odule, Chiwetalu Agwu and several others.

Meanwhile, Toyin is preparing for her next blockbuster movie, the final sequence of Alakada and a pan-African movie staring top African stars. Samuel Olatunji (of Bigsam Media) on the other hand is preparing for the release of Seven and a Half Date in cinemas across Nigeria on August 3, 2018.
