Abductors of Delta monarch demands N15m


Hoodlums, who abducted the Obi of Ogodo in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State HRM Obi Olisewokwu have demanded N15 million ransom for his release.

The monarch was reportedly abducted by about seven unknown gunmen Sunday along the agrarian communities of Ezi and Onicha-Olona.

Nigerian Tribune gathered that kidnappers had requested the ransom after establishing contact with members of the family.

The family members were said to have been instructed to deliver the ransom by 6:00 p.m. on Monday without which the hoodlums had allegedly vowed to snuff the life out of the victim.

The victim, Obi Olisewokwu said to be in his 40s, is currently the chairman of Aniocha North Traditional Rulers’ Committee.

He was said to be on his way back from Onicha-Olona when the hoodlums intercepted his Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) and hurled him into the woods after abandoning the vehicle on a spot.

The two other occupants of the vehicle described as his younger brother and brother-in-law was allegedly manhandled during the incident.

Meanwhile, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Andrew Aniamaka, told Nigerian Tribune on phone late Monday that efforts were ongoing to track down the abductors as well as secure the safe rescue of the monarch
