The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, on Sunday announced ailing chieftain of the party, Mr Opeyemi Bamidele, as the Director General of the governorship campaign of the party’s candidate, Dr Kayode Fayemi.
The chairman of the APC in the state, Chief Jide Awe, inaugurated the various committees of the campaign.
The campaign council will work with the National Campaign Council led by Kebbi State governor, Alhaji Atiku Bagudu, that had earlier been inaugurated by the National Chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun.
Speaking on the occasion, Fayemi said of the absent Bamidele that “we are still retaining his position as the Director General of this Council, because he had already accepted to be DG of this council before that incident.”
