APC Convention: Delta delegates in free for fall

Spectators, delegates, and security agents watched with awe as delegates from Delta State engaged each other in a fight at the Saturday national convention of the All Progressives Congress, which was held at the Eagles Square, Abuja.

Our correspondent gathered that the delegates were said to be loyalists of two main factional leaders in the state.

The leaders are Chief O’tega Emerhor and a former Governorship candidate in the state, Chief Great Ogboru.

The fight broke out when President Muhammadu Buhari stepped out to read his address.

The faction loyal to Ortega had stepped out to eat but were stunned when they returned and found out that their seats had been taken over by another faction.

When they returned, they were taunted by the Ogboru faction.

The angry delegates believed that Senator Ovie Omo-Agege used his position as the Secretary of the accreditation committee to outwit them.

The faction loyal to Ortega regrouped and attempted to unseat the already seated members of the party from the state.
