Ekiti 2018: Segun Adewale Of ADP Remains Best Candidate For Ekiti Governor. – ELM

A foremost socio-political group in Ekiti State, Ekiti Liberation Movement (ELM) has rated the candidature of Otunba Segun Adewale as the best to turnaround the fortune of the state, rallying the people to queue behind the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in the upcoming governorship election for the rebirth of Ekiti state.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Director-General of EML, Chief Sunday Anifowoshe, after an interactive engagement with newsmen in Ado Ekiti on Monday.

Anifowoshe, a grassroot mobiliser, charged Ekiti people to use the 2018 governorship election to liberate themselves from what he termed as “Negative Development”, pointing out that for the first time in the history of the state, “an entrepreneur who is doing very well in his personal business has joined the guber race because of his love to take the people out of poverty.”

The group who also profiled the other leading contestants, however, accused the current government led by Governor Ayodele Fayose, of clever trick to foist his deputy, Olusola Eleka, on the state, in order to cover his numerous frauds perpetrated while in office and escape the hammer of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

It also assessed former governors Segun Oni and Kayode Fayemi of seeking the governorship seat to strategically position themselves ahead of 2019 election, to deliver the state to President Muhammadu Buhari and not swayed by the interest of the people.

ELM, however, charged the Ekiti people not to be carried away with the fanfare or political wave in the state, noting that they must look at the substance in each of the candidates and not the noise.

Anifowoshe conveyed the group’s resolution to throw their weight behind a gentleman, Otunba Adewale, whose alias OSAPraPra, has become a household name in Ekiti State, saying he (Adewale) has gone round the cities and hamlets of the state to share his vision and mission for Ekiti.

Anifowoshe said amongst the contestants, only Adewale is able to tell the people the problems facing them, and how he intent to solve them, adding that all the contents in Adewale’s manifesto are real and achieveable.

He said he and his other group members have carefully xrayed the contents of each of the contestants manifesto but found that of Adewale to be more practicable and achievable, citing electricity, agriculture, payment of salaries, entrepreneurship and other.

Anifowoshe expressed optimism that when Ekiti people finally vote for the right candidate, most of the youths who has been abandoned to their fate will be taken off the streets, noting that many of them (youth) whose only occupation is to ride “Okada” for survival will begin to get good jobs that can cater for their needs.

He emphasised his call for Ekiti people to ignore antics of those who will further impoverished them and charged them to vote for Action Democratic Party (ADP) at the poll on July 14, assuring the people of Ekiti state that “the victory of Otunba Adewale meant freedom for us as a people,” statement added
