Diego Costa urge Griezmann to stick with Atletico
Diego Costa is hopeful Antonie Griezmann will resist interest from elsewhere and stick with Atletico Madrid.
Barcelona are keen to sign the Atleti star, which has led to Los Colchoneros hitting out at ‘inappropriate conduct’ from Camp Nou regarding their pursuit of the forward.
Costa admits the fact Griezmann is dragging his feet over whether or not to remain with Los Rojiblancos isn’t ideal but the Spain striker remains hopeful he will opt to stay at the Wanda Metropolitano.
“[Griezmann] is taking a long time to decide but the important thing is that he’s happy,” Costa told a news conference at Spain’s pre-World Cup base in Madrid.
“If he’s happy and he wants to leave, he should leave. If he’s happy [at Atletico], he should stay. I think he’s going to stay.”
