Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, has said the Presidency should be ready for the defeat of the All Progressives Congress and its candidate in the July 14 governorship election in the state.
He said the defeat will be a shocker for the Presidency and congratulatory message for the Adams Oshiomhole-led National Working Committee of the party.
Fayose, who stated this through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Idowu Adelusi in Ado-Ekiti on Sunday, was reacting to the quit notice given to him and his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by the Presidency during the APC’s national convention in Abuja at the weekend.
The governor said the APC was day dreaming, because apart from Ekiti which is already a hope lost for Kayode Fayemi, the APC would also meet its waterloo in Osun State, and would be finally dislodged from the Presidency in 2019.
Fayose said the Presidency did not need a soothsayer to educate them that its candidate would not be able to win in Ekiti because he had offended every stakeholder who are the real voters.
President Muhammadu Buhari, who initially was being deceived with fake popularity of Fayemi in Ekiti, had seen the reality, likewise Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who equally had capitulated.
” While the President said though he wished Fayemi would win but elections are not predictable, Osinbajo said any party could win. This is because they have been told the truth. How can Fayemi win when he lacks the support of the critical sectors, the voters.
“He has offended the teachers, who he demoted, harassed and planned to sack. They also know that if Fayemi comes back, he is going to sack them, so, how will teachers vote for him?
” Local government workers that Fayemi harassed and said were not necessary are not his friends. Recently, he said no local government needs more than 200 workers, signifying that he plans to sack them if elected. They won’t vote for him.
“He said commercial motorcyclists are a nuisance and should be barred from operating in the state. They will not vote Fayemi or the APC. The list is endless and the people of the state who are reeling under the heavy debts he put the state into, have rejected him,” he said.
Fayose added that the PDP and its candidate, Prof Kolapo Olusola, would win convincingly during the poll.

The Ekiti State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has asked former Governor Kayode Fayemi to account for N16.7 billion his administration under-declared as internally-generated revenue (IGR) from 2010 to 2014.
PDP said in a statement, in Sunday, that the call became necessary “since Fayemi said his administration was raking in an average of N600 million monthly as IGR and which totals N7.2 billion yearly.”
In the statement by its chairman, Chief Gboyega Oguntuwase, PDP alleged that against the figures above, “the figures Fayemi’s administration gave to the National Bureau of Statistics, the Federal Ministry of Finance, the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation among others did not tally with Fayemi’s claim.”
Oguntuwase said: “Records in the above offices show that in 2011, the IGR of the state was N2.5 billion which translated to about N207 million monthly. Leaving a balance of N4.7 billion going by Fayemi’s claim. In 2012, it was N3.8 billion which meant it was an average of N306 million monthly and that was the highest figure his administration recorded. It also left a balance of N3.4 billion.
“In 2013, it was N2.3 billion an average of N198 million monthly and it left a balance of N4.9 billion. In 2014, it was N3.5 billion an average of N299 million monthly. It left a balance of N3.7 billion. The total balance yet unaccounted for going by Fayemi’s claim is N16.7 billion in four years.
“The figures for 2012 and 2014 were high because that was when he got the first and second tranches of the N25 billion he borrowed from the Capital Market.
“Since Fayemi is claiming that he raised the IGR to N600 million monthly which should be about N7.2 billion in a year, it means his administration under declared its IGR and he should tell Ekiti people were the remaining funds are.”
Reacting, the Kayode Fayemi Campaign Organisation said “this is not the first time that Fayose and his men are concocting ridiculous and inconsistent figures to claim that Dr Kayode Fayemi either put the state in debts or that he stole money.”
Spokesperson of the campaign, Mr. Wole Olujobi, said “Fayose first said Fayemi left N96b debts. Later, he reduced the figure to N92bn and again to N86bn. Later he called it N76b, to the point that you could not even say this is what the figure was until DMO declared that the debt was N18b.
“Didn’t Fayose say that the state’s monthly wage is N2.6b, the same figure that Fayemi was paying after Fayose removed 40,000 names from the wage bill he inherited from Fayemi?
“Have you forgotten that Fayemi increased IGR from N160m to N600m? When Fayose assumed office, he jerked up rates and taxes for Ekiti people, including introduction of fresh taxes. What did he tell Ekiti people about the state IGR later?”
He said “Ekiti IGR was N250m down from N600m after hike in taxes and rates, including fresh taxes that include taxation of school children. Up till now, nobody knows government account into which Ekiti revenues are paid.”
