Dr. Bukola Saraki got a vote of confidence from both chambers of the National Assembly yesterday at the emergency Joint Executive Session.
The Senate President has had quite a productive couple of days, with the ongoing 3-day hearing for the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) and the emergency session that took place yesterday, 5th of June.
The emergency session presided by Saraki, detailed the concerns of the National Assembly on the fight against corruption in the country, including seeking marching orders to Security Agencies in order to “curtail the sustained killing of Nigerians across the country” which is the primary duty of any responsible Government.
From the 12-point resolution read by the Senate President, the National Assembly urged the President to adhere strictly to the Rule of Law and must take immediate steps to contain the growing level of unemployment and poverty in Nigeria.
