As the seven-day ultimatum issued to Falz the Bahd Guy by Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) to pull down his controversial This is Nigeria video is set to lapse in the coming days, the rapper has maintained that his decision to keep promoting the video would not change.
MURIC had on Wednesday threatened to sue the musician as it labelled the video anti-Islam even as Falz’s management countered MURIC hours after the statement, saying it would nothing will make Falz remove the video.
The song featured a character that dressed like a Fulani man, who suddenly abandoned his traditional guitar and beheaded a man.
It also portrayed women in hijab as choreographers dancing to the popular‘shaku-shaku’ song, a dance, which MURIC said was associated with a drug-related song.
On Friday, R reached out to Falz’s management through one of the members of team, Femi Soro, who claimed that such threat would not deter Falz as he would continue to promote the video, adding that if anyone has any grievance against Falz should approach the court for redress.
With only three days before the ultimatum is over, Soro said “We have nothing to say. We are not withdrawing the video neither are we commenting on their claims. If they have any grievance they can head to court and we will meet them,” he said.
