I will reveal everything when I’m no longer FIFA president – Blatter

Re-elected FIFA President Sepp Blatter gestures during news conference after an extraordinary Executive Committee meeting in Zurich, Switzerland, May 30, 2015. REUTERS/Arnd Wiegmann FIFA president, Sepp Blatter, has promised to reveal everything about his impending departure, when he has officially stepped down.

The 79-year-old shocked world football, when he announced he will be resigning from his role, despite getting re-elected few days before.

Blatter’s victory in the election, was overshadowed by bribery and money laundering allegation that rocked FIFA and saw 14 officials arrested by Swiss and American authorities in Zurich.

He has now revealed that many things happened behind closed doors, but he will keep them under wraps until his exit.

“That is something I wish to keep to myself. What has happened, will be part of my legacy. It felt highly uncomfortable at the time,” he told De Volkskrant.

“I did it to protect the institution and my family against the attacks on FIFA, not to protect myself. I don’t need any help when it comes to my personal integrity.

“When I am no longer president on FIFA, I will tell exactly what happened. I do not wish to go into details now, because of the ongoing investigations. I keep this to myself and I feel good about it.”
