The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested one Pastor Ifeanyi Bernard for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl in Mararaba, Karu Local Government Area of the state, reports Tribune.
The
46-year-old pastor had reportedly lured the girl into his One Man
Village apartment under the pretext that he wanted to cast out demons
out of her and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her, after which he threatened to kill her if she told anyone what he did to her.
According to the State Commissioner of Police, Sani Mohammed, the girl opened up to her father, Martins Agbara Ijwo, who reported the incident to the police.
"On
November 4, 2015, at about 1800 hours, one Martins Agbara Ijwo of One
Man Village in Karu Local Government reported at a police station there
that on November 3, 2015, at 1245 hours, one Pastor Ifeanyi Bernard,
behind Alikima Mararaba, lured his daughter into his house under the
false pretence that he will pray for her to cast out demons from their
family and thereby forcefully had carnal knowledge of her in his bed.
He
further threatens to kill her if she spoke to any other person about
the incident. Exhibits recovered from him were bottles of anointing oil
and bed sheet," Mohammed said.
