A restaurant in Southern part of Nigeria, precisely Anambra state, has reportedly been shut down after being accused of serving and selling human flesh after discovering some bags containing human heads in the restaurant’s kitchen.
A report on the BBC’s Swahili service reported that police had been informed by the local people about this development sometimes ago on some suspected horrific activities going on at the restaurant. in the south-eastern province of Anambra.
The police raided the establishment and allegedly discovered humans’ heads, dripping blood into plastic bags, and weapons machetes, knives of various sizes and grenades. Ten people were reportedly arrested at the raid.
An eye-witness who also a resident of the area said: “I’m not surprised at the shocking revelation. Every time I went to the market, I observed strange activities going on in the hotel’. People who were never neatly dressed and who looked a bit strange made their way in and out of the hotel, making me very suspicious”.
The revelation of this restaurant got to known by people after a local priest who ate at the restaurant was alarmed at the prices it was charging after being presented with a bill of about #1000 which is nearly four times the daily wage for millions of Nigerian labourers.
He was told the high cost was because of the piece of meat he had ordered. “I did not know I had been served human meat, and it was that expensive,” he explained.
