Pipeline vandals’ clash report causes pipeline explosion
A reported clash between different groups of vandals at Arepo around midnight has led to a pipeline explosion, the National Emergency Management Agency has said.
In a text message to PREMIUM TIMES on Wednesday, the agency said that it was yet to confirm if there were casualties.
“NNPC have been alerted about the explosion immediately and have shut down supplies to suffocate the fire while efforts are on to put out the fire by the NNPC safety Unit,” said Ibrahim Farinloye, South-West Spokesperson, NEMA.
“Efforts are on to access the swampy terrain with stakeholders.”
Details later…
