Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho, has criticized his players for making “ridiculous mistakes”, after they were beaten 2-1 by his former side, FC Porto.
The Blues continued a miserable start to the season, with a loss in the Champions League in Portugal.
Andre Andre gave the hosts the lead, before Willian curled in a superb free-kick. Maicon eventually headed in the winner in the second half.
“I think it was a good performance with two ridiculous mistakes. Sometimes you make them and are not punished. We were punished,” Mourinho told reporters.
“We watch dozens of repetitions of Porto taking corners. We were completely ready for that and in a moment when the game is under control, we concede a goal that is ridiculous.
“We had another mistake similar when they hit the post. Apart from that the performance was balanced. The players reacted in a positive way and tried to play in a positive way.
“It’s a difficult opponent, a difficult place to play. Champions League brings a different emotion to matches.
“When you have good results and perform well, untouchables, there is a relation with consistency in performances
“When you play a disaster it’s easy to make drastic decisions. When you play like today, it’s more difficult.”
The result leaves Chelsea third in Group G with three points behind both Porto and Dynamo Kiev.
