A Zimbabwean politician is promising to open bank accounts for 50 women, in a bid to garner votes in the upcoming election in the country.
Campion Mugweni, who is a member of the ZANU PF is seeking the support of the electorate to represent Mazowe North as a Member of Parliament.
Mugweni said he will open bank accounts for women in the Bare Growth point community as a way of empowering them after the opening of the Women’s Micro-Financing Bank by president Emmerson Mnangagwa recently, reports Bulawayo 24.
Speaking in the community, Mugweni said he was hitting the ground vigorously and he is targeting the constituency not ZANU PF electorate.
“I am now hitting the ground as an MP hence I am specialising on the development of the constituency, not ZANU PF electorate only because it is not a secret that people are looking for people who deliver and I am one hence I am going to win,” said the confident Mugweni.
Zimbabwe will hold its first election in years on 30th July 2018.
