Drama at Abuja Airport as plane caring Senators, and Presidential aspirant was denied landing permit

Over 60 Passengers of Azman Airline, some of whom are prominent politicians and captain of industries  were were left in limbo on Monday when the plane was made to stay in the air for more than an hour after it was denied permission to land by the control tower.

The aircraft had left Kano for Abuja at around 1PM, upon nearing the Abuja airport, it requested permission to land only to be denied due to the fact that the army was using the airport for military drills.

The plain was left hovering in the air for over an hour until it almost ran out of fuel, the pilot then considered returning to Kano but the passengers prevailed on him to land the plane without the permission of the control tower which he did.

Among the passengers were Sule Lamido, a presidential aspirant of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Shehu Sani, the senator representing Kaduna Central at the National Assembly, and Senator Sabo Mohammed from Jigawa State.

The pilot was reported to have apologised to the passengers for the delay.

Efforts to get officials of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to react to the incident were unsuccessful.

Some military planes belonging to Air Force are on aerial display rehearsal in Abuja ahead of the Independence Day celebration on October 1
