We’re set to wrestle power from APC in 2019 ―Tafawa Balewa

THE National Chairman, Nigeria Intervention Movement (NIM), Dr Abdul Jhalil Tafawa Balewa, on Tuesday, said efforts are in the offing, alongside other eight political parties to wrestle power from the All Progressives Congress (APC) led Federal Government in 2019.

Dr Balewa, who disclosed this in Abuja after his meeting with eight political parties and other stakeholders, said the movement is set to work out a grand coalition for an election alliance that would bring fresh breed into governance in 2019.

Among the representatives of the parties at the meeting include Labour Party (LP); Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN); Action Democratic Party (ADP); Social Democratic Party (SDP); Action Alliance (AA); KOWA Party; as well as Peoples Party of Nigeria (PPN) and United Progressive Party of Nigeria (UPPN).

The Technical Committee was thereafter set up to work out on Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which would be signed by all parties present at the meeting.

Speaking further, the National Chairman said the aim of the coalition was to govern Nigeria to better economy, agriculture, education, health and ensure adequate security for the entire populace.

He said the strategy to adopt to dislodge APC in 2019 is in pipeline, saying there are better days ahead for Nigeria and her citizens.

Also speaking, NIM Steering Committee member, Honourable (Dr) Olu Sybil Usim-Wilson, said cabal had taken over President Muhammadu Buhari government, hence the need to savage the country from the present crop of political office holders.

She lamented that many notable Nigerians who worked assiduously for President Buhari’s emergency in 2015 were sidelined, urging eligible voters to secure their future by ensuring that their Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) are ready before general election and vote in candidates of their choices.
